A recent study by a respected economist revealed that increased spending in the military diverts resources necessary for (among other things) production and investment and thus, hurts the economy in the long run. Since Neocons are incapable of long-term thinking; this never crossed their minds, or they just didn’t care.
Just as they did in the offset of the tragedy in New Orleans, the Regime is redirecting the blame for slow response to a natural disaster to a state government. In the aftermath of the recent tornado in Greensburg, Kansas, the governor – Kathleen Sebelius – was having trouble providing aid to her ailing citizens because of a lack of equipment – that mostly have gone to Iraq, along with the National Guard – and when she complained to the Feds about this, the Regime said it was all her fault. They alleged that Gov. Sebelius never requested help; therefore she didn’t get it, but the fact is that the Democratic Gov. had requested help last year after noting shortcomings in supply. Does anyone else get the slight feeling that at least a portion of this is intentional?
Should we rejoice or mourn the Repug victory in their filibuster of a bill that would’ve legalized imported and cheaper medication from other industrialized nations? I say mourn, but the myopic state of mind these people maintain will never vanish so long as the current political system of corrupt fundraising and lobbying continues.
As a result of Paul Wolfowitz’s gross incompetence; a majority of the World Bank has called for his resignation. Furthermore, most of our allies that are involved with the bank are seriously considering a reform of policies that would strip the authority of our country to appoint the President of the World Bank alone…great job guys; our nation is more marginalized today than ever!!
The child mortality rate in Iraq has worsened over the last 15 years, due to disease and violence. Although it is a tragedy that one in every eight Iraqi children dies before they turn five; what is even more troubling is America’s rank as the 26th in combating mortality rates. 26th!! Let that sink in!! We can spend billions on fighting unjust wars, increasing spending on developing new and improved ways to slaughter millions in addition to all the payoffs the bastards give to Pharmaceutical companies, and we – the richest country in the world – lag behind 25 other LESS industrialized and poor nations in ensuring the longevity of our children’s existence? How the f*** can we live with ourselves?!! How can we sit by and permit 25 other countries to remain ahead of our so-called advanced and innovative genius in fighting this tragedy? It’s most definitely true that the Right only care for the unborn until they cease to reside in the womb…after that; they can fend for themselves!!
As the movement for the impeachment and inevitable removal of the dictatorship grows amongst the populace (even according to a poll conducted by a Repug that had helped Newt Gingrich in the past, and is polling significantly higher than the attempts to impeach Clinton had in 1999), congress and even some former BOOsh underlings, one must ask; “what more must happen before Congress acts in defense of our liberties?” Honestly, this is getting to be ridiculous. Either uphold the constitution, or amend it to eliminate the very mechanism that was installed to do so.
The State of South Dakota, or at least the department that deals with licensure of drivers and their plates, plans on imposing punitive actions on a citizen for having a plate that reads “MPEACHW”. Their supposed policy requires that if a plate could be potentially offensive to anyone; it will be disallowed. However, theirs a question of violating the first amendment here because this involves a public official and not a hate-related matter. I guest free speech is allowed as long as you don’t do it on government property. This is an incorrect perception as well because our taxes pay the wages/salary of all Bureau of Motor Vehicle employees and then our hard earned money pays for custom made plates; so, what the hell is the problem with using both to express yourself as long as it isn’t for the purpose of hurting others?
I recently addressed Newark City Council for the sixth time on the matter of a resolution that would demand action on the impeachment and inevitable removal of the Regime. This transpired on Monday the 7th, wherein I said:
"To start this off, I first want to comment on the great admiration I have for all those serving overseas. These are the bravest amongst us that have chosen to serve our country; so we don’t have to. Their honor and integrity is in no way tarnished or diminished by the incompetence of George W. Bush and his regime, thus we should always stand in support of them and praise them for all they do.
During my last visit; I commented on the importance of immediate action to stop global warming, and how the impeachment and removal of the current executive occupants is essential top ensuring that action is taken soon. However, global warming is nowhere near the only reason for the growing movement to hold this gang of criminals accountable for their atrocities.
On April 24th, Congressman Dennis Kucinich submitted H.Res. 333. As you may have heard by now, this resolution calls for the impeachment of Richard Cheney, and is undoubtedly the logical first step in eradicating the cancer that this regime has become. There are three articles in the bill that specifically reference to Cheney’s consistent insistence on using deception to initiate a war of aggression against Iraq, as well as the continued defense of the lies that preceded this war, and the stunningly similar pattern of deceit relating to Iran.
An excerpt from the resolution:
“Article One;
‘Despite all evidence to the contrary, the Vice President actively and systematically sought to deceive the citizens and Congress of the United States about an alleged threat of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction:
Cheney has said the following;
`We know they have biological and chemical weapons.' (In a March 17, 2002)… Press Conference (with) His Highness Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince of Bahrain.
‘…he is actively pursuing nuclear weapons at this time . . .' (In a) March 24, 2002 (interview on) CNN Late Edition.
`He is, in fact, actively and aggressively seeking to acquire nuclear weapons.' (In a) September 8, 2002 (interview on) NBC’s Meet the Press.
Preceding the March 2003 invasion of Iraq the Vice President was fully informed that no legitimate evidence existed of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. The Vice President pressured the intelligence community to change their findings to enable the deception of the citizens and Congress of the United States.
Vice President Cheney and his Chief of Staff, Lewis Libby, made multiple trips to the CIA in 2002 to question analysts studying Iraq's weapons programs and alleged links to al Qaeda, creating an environment in which analysts felt they were being pressured to make their assessments fit with the Bush administration's policy objectives accounts.
The Vice President's actions corrupted or attempted to corrupt the 2002 National Intelligence Estimate, an intelligence document issued on October 1, 2002, and carefully considered by Congress prior to the October 10, 2002, vote to authorize the use of force. The Vice President's actions prevented the necessary reconciliation of facts for the National Intelligence Estimate which resulted in a high number of dissenting opinions from technical experts in two Federal agencies.
The State Department's Bureau of Intelligence and Research dissenting view in the October 2002 National Intelligence Estimate references a Department of Energy opinion by stating that `INR accepts the judgment of technical experts at the US Department of Energy (DOE) who have concluded that the tubes Iraq seeks to acquire are poorly suited for use in gas centrifuges to be used for uranium enrichment and finds unpersuasive the arguments advanced by others to make the case that they are intended for that purpose.'
Article Two: Despite all evidence to the contrary, the Vice President actively and systematically sought to deceive the citizens and the Congress of the United States about an alleged relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda (in making the following statements):
`His regime aids and protects terrorists, including members of Al Qaeda. He could decide secretly to provide weapons of mass destruction to terrorists for use against us.' (In a) January 30, 2003 (speech) to the 30th Political Action Conference in Arlington, Virginia.
`We learned more and more that there was a relationship between Iraq and Al Qaeda that stretched back through most of the decade of the '90s, that it involved training, for example, on biological weapons and chemical weapons . . .' (In a) September 14, 2003 (interview on) NBC’s Meet the Press.
Preceding the March 2003 invasion of Iraq the Vice President was fully informed that no credible evidence existed of a working relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda, a fact articulated in several official documents, including:
Defense Intelligence Terrorism Summary No. 044-02, issued in February 2002 by the United States Defense Intelligence Agency, which challenged the credibility of information gleaned from captured al Qaeda leader al-Libi. The DIA report also cast significant doubt on the possibility of a Saddam Hussein-al-Qaeda conspiracy: `Saddam's regime is intensely secular and is wary of Islamic revolutionary movements. Moreover, Baghdad is unlikely to provide assistance to a group it cannot control.'.
A January 2003 British intelligence classified report on Iraq that concluded that `there are no current links between the Iraqi regime and the al-Qaeda network'.
Article Three: Despite no evidence that Iran has the intention or the capability of attacking the United States and despite the turmoil created by United States invasion of Iraq, the Vice President has openly threatened aggression against Iran as evidenced by the following (quotes):
`For our part, the United States is keeping all options on the table in addressing the irresponsible conduct of the regime. And we join other nations in sending that regime a clear message: We will not allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon.' (In a) March 7, 2006 (speech) to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee 2006 Policy Conference.
`When we--as the President did, for example, recently--deploy another aircraft carrier task force to the Gulf, that sends a very strong signal to everybody in the region that the United States is here to stay, that we clearly have significant capabilities, and that we are working with friends and allies as well as the international organizations to deal with the Iranian threat.' (In a) January 29, 2007 (interview with) Newsweek.
The Vice President, who repeatedly and falsely claimed to have had specific, detailed knowledge of Iraq's alleged weapons of mass destruction capabilities, is no doubt fully aware of evidence that demonstrates Iran poses no real threat to the United States as evidenced by the following (quote):
`I know that what we see in Iran right now is not the industrial capacity you can [use to develop a] bomb.' Mohamed ElBaradei, Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency, February 19, 2007.
The Vice President is fully aware of the actions taken by the United States towards Iran that are further destabilizing the world as evidenced by the following:
The United States is currently engaged in a military buildup in the Middle East that includes the increased presence of the United States Navy in the waters near Iran, significant United States Armed Forces in two nations neighboring to Iran, and the installation of anti-missile technology in the region.
News accounts have indicated that military planners have considered the B61-11, a tactical nuclear weapon, as one of the options to strike underground bunkers in Iran.
In the last three years the Vice President has repeatedly threatened Iran. However, the Vice President is legally bound by the U.S. Constitution's adherence to international law that prohibits threats of use of force.
Article Six of the Constitution recognizes any and all ratified treaties that our country sign to be adhered to as the supreme law of the land…accordingly, Kucinich remarks on our nation’s obligation to obey the treaties Congress has ratified:
The United States is a signatory to the United Nations Charter, a treaty among the nations of the world. Article II, Section 4 of the United Nations Charter states, `All Members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the Purposes of the United Nations.' The threat of force is illegal.”
Approximately ten state legislatures have recently taken up the issue of impeachment. Reason being that Thomas Jefferson, in his genius, set a standard in the Jefferson Manual that mandated congressional action on a matter if and when a state legislature demanded such action. Vermont has taken the most steps in the direction of initiating this procedure when the upper house of that state’s legislature passed a resolution demanding impeachment proceeds to begin immediately.
During my attempts to coerce council’s action on Impeachment last fall; it was brought up on several occasions that this was not the appropriate forum for this discussion. However, as I should have brought up then, there was once another serious matter concerning the oppression of our people through the systematic suppression of our individual liberties that prompted a series of town-hall debates that eventually inspired the passage of resolutions throughout the 13 Colonies that led to the Declaration of Independence and the Revolutionary War.
After all, as legend has it, Patrick Henry declared – in a municipal setting – “give me liberty of give me death”. Now, 233 years later – our constitution is under attack – our civil liberties are endangered and we are once again forced to stand against a tyrant named George.
The former White House Counsel to Richard Nixon, John Dean, whom famously remarked to Nixon that Watergate was becoming a “cancer on the presidency” before Nixon fired him, wrote in his book, “Worse than Watergate”:
“It has been the announced policy of…Bush/Cheney…to expand presidential power for (their) own sake, and (they) continually searched for avenues to do just that, while constantly testing to see how far (they) can push the limits. I must add that never before have I felt the slightest reason to fear our government. Nor do I frighten easily. I do fear the Bush/Cheney government and the precedents they are creating…”
This coming from a man that experienced one of the most scandal clad and vitriolic administrations in American History, one that would’ve been the first to be successfully removed via Impeachment Trial had Nixon not resigned…if Mr. Dean actually fears this regime for what they’re doing to our country, then there should be no doubt that immediate action is imperative to the survival of our country as a representative democracy.
I noted earlier my admiration for those that stand and defend this great country and how they can in no way be dishonored by the misdeeds of any administration. However, what would be a great disservice to them in return for their sacrifice would be to permit the constitution and the values they defend to crumble in the face of fascism.
Do not let this happen, act now to stand for truth, justice and freedom. 2009 may be too late…"
City Council barely responded. Councilwoman Kennedy (D - At Large), whom signed my petition last fall commended my hard work and made an effort to compliment my heartfelt cause, but again insisted that I go before I different body on this. Then, Councilwoman Stare (D - 2nd Ward) thanked me for my research and compassion. This was followed by the comments of a fellow citizen who corrected me on my statements regarding Patrick Henry, noting that he made his statement before a colonial legislature instead if a town hall. I later confirmed this and have already included my retraction in my follow-up speech.
Now, I need to remark on my attempts to urge Congressman Zack Space's action on the matter of Impeachment. As I shared at Democrats.com, I have corresponded with Rep. Space (D) on this matter via letter and a phone call in support of H.Res. 333 (resolution to Impeach Cheney). The following is that exchange (letterwise):

"Congressman Space,
First off, I want to thank you for your incredible service in the U.S. House of Representatives. I take great pride in telling people that you are my congressman, as well as the fact that I have met you on a number of occasions. My reasoning for writing you involves one of the most important issues that have ever faced our great nation.
I’m sure that you are well aware of the numerous crimes – both admitted to and denied – by then current occupants of our federal executive branch. From the numerous lies surrounding the march to war with Iraq; to the inhumane and illegal treatment of detainees in our custody. The domestic surveillance program, this administration’s use of the “signing statement”, the creation of “free speech zones”, and the involvement of both Bush and Cheney in the outing of former CIA Operative Valerie Plame-Wilson.
Congressional Oversight is mandated, not optional. It is essential to protecting the individual liberties of the American populace as well as to preserving the structure of this Democratic-Republic. Congressman Conyers (D-MI) recently announced House Judiciary Committee hearings on Bush’s usage of the “signing statement” to determine whether or not the overreaching authority by interpretation to ignore laws passed by Congress threatens the very structure of our unique system of government.
I am urging you to support these hearing as well as any and all future investigations into the practices of this administration. Failure to do so will reflect a failure to uphold, protect, and preserve the constitution in the manner mandated by that same document. Furthermore, I implore you to research the numerous questionable policies of the Bush Administration on every issue, compare them to the law (United States Code and the Constitution) and then determine the legality of each. If you haven’t the time to do this, then have your staff do it.
Research the numerous studies conducted by legal, historical, constitutional experts nationwide to see their conclusions on Bush’s policies, to aid in your studies. Look into H.Res. 635 (submitted by Rep. Conyers in December 2005) as well as H.Res. 636 and 637 for serious consideration. Look for now former-Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (D-GA)’s H.Res. 1106 submitted on the final day of the second session in the 109th Congress. (If you can not find this resolution, I have a copy of it and will forward it to you) I urge your immediate correspondence on this matter.
Preserving our constitution is vital to preserving our way of life. Refusing and/or failing to act now in its defense sets a dangerous and unacceptable precedent for all future occupants of that office (United States President). Enclosed with this letter is a copy of a speech I gave to present my case before my local government while urging them to act in a manner that would encourage our representatives in Congress (including your office) to act immediately.
That speech was the last of four I had delivered before them and citizens within the council chambers. Do not fear taking action because of the media or even some in our own party that are more concerned with winning the next election than standing up for the people they claim to serve. If impeachment proceeds are to follow the aforementioned investigations; it will not be about revenge, but justice instead. Remember that and – once again – take this into serious, deep consideration as soon as possible.

Frankly, I was not the proverbial happy-camper upon reading this letter, especially a day after the four year anniversary of Bush’s premature remarks that all “major combat operations” had ended before a “Mission Accomplished” banner that the administration themselves had planned for display (only to later claim that it was all the fault of that ship’s crew).
You say that you “strongly disagree with some of the Administration’s policies” exactly what is it that you do support from this bunch? Domestic Wiretapping in violation of Federal law? Illegal Covert renditions of detainees back and forth across Europe and Africa to countries that condone torture? Memos that explicitly contend that international laws don’t matter in this so-called “War on terror” and thus don’t apply to this administration? Pre-emptive acts of aggression against nations that pose no immediate threat as long as it is “justified” as being a part of the “long war”? Intentional deceit of the public here at home, and abroad, as well as governmental bodies international and national? What is it? Tell me; elaborate.

Well, you shed a bit of hope in the statement that you “currently” oppose the idea of impeachment, but you are again ignoring the issues. You imply that impeachment can’t resolve our nation’s many problems, and then further justify said opposition by parroting the rhetoric of the right wing (amongst the media, republican and even the so-called democratic parties) that our country is “divided enough”, basically implying that impeachment will only further divide this nation. This is a baseless argument, and I am truly ashamed that you have decided to side with the neo-conservatives on this. If anything, with impeachment hearings, the truth regarding this administrations arrogant disdain for the rule of law will turn the populace against them and in favor of their removal.
You close this paragraph by insisting that we must work towards common solutions to “move forward”. This is the most pathetic argument against impeachment. Obviously, you are merely touting the “party line” of neutrality in acting on Bush’s atrocities in the interest of fighting for better solutions and strengthening our “chances” of regaining the white house and retaining control of congress. The aforementioned goal has been espoused by the inept “Congressional Leadership” and is in no way shape or form justifiable.

It is likely that he will eventually sign one of these bills and then opt to just issue a “signing statement” interpreting the law with some self-assuring proclamation of his “eternal authority” as “commander in chief” to ignore the withdrawal provision. He’s done it before.
The only way to enact true reform is to pursue justice by holding this American Dictatorship accountable for what they’ve done. Your failure to act will be representative of your complicity in the atrocities this band of hooligans commits. Furthermore, that very same failure will result in your loss of my support and thus my vote in 2008.
I can not and will not vote for someone that fails to uphold their oath of office, particularly relating to their mandated duty to protect the very document that established and binds this Democratic-Republic.

In the first Repug Debate (wherein they rejoiced over the thought of Roe v. Wade’s overturn, supported terminations of homosexuals in the workplace [a position that would later be blamed on a hearing aid], dodged a question on supporting a Libby pardon, resorted to attacking Bill Clinton’s character, misled the people on Reagan’s role in the negotiations to release the hostages in Iran and just all around turned into one big love-fest with Reagan…sickening) to determine the best suitable candidate for the heir to the Empire; Ron Paul expressed the true values of traditional Republicans. The man stood out as the only honest man on stage as he lambasted the occupation, BOOsh’s foreign policy as well as the subversion of the constitution…if this man is nominated and isn’t up against Kucinich or even Gravel; I’ll choose him (that’s assuming that Edwards, Obama, and the rest of the Democratic Candidates fail to prove themselves worthy). I’m done with voting for the “lesser of two evils.”
Repugs in Congress (some of whom like to quote members of the KKK) showed their true colors (as usual) when Democrats amended the Hate Crimes Bill to include the Armed Forces and Seniors in response to rhetoric from Repugs that seemed to imply that these be included for their support thereof. Why any logical person supports John McCain is beyond comprehension; especially after recent hate-filled ignorance that spewed from his bowels, where he chose to falsely assert – without citation of evidence – that the Supreme Court had upheld the right of the pentagon to discharge someone for being of a particular sexual orientation and that military homosexuals endanger our national security. McCain has gone off the deep end…way off.
In his never-ending quest to own the world – in competition with Time Warner – Rupert Murdoch, a man that is already powerful enough in the news and communications industries, has made a very high bid to purchase Dow Jones. Needless to say, putting this financial news agency in the hands of the very man that runs the propaganda machine for the BOOsh Regime is a very frightening scenario. The Securities and Exchange Commission is now investigating questionable trading that took place before this announcement…hmmm.
A lot has been transpiring in Colorado where the Repug Secretary of State has been implicated in a scandal where one of his current subordinates was reportedly selling voter data to Repug candidates. Too bad our Department of Justice is too tied up with doing all they can to prosecute political opponents or this would be a very big matter to take up.
Repugs always seem to rant and scream about illegal immigrants unless one of them sides politically on the dark side. Sen. Ensign sought funds from the home of an illegal immigrant that escaped deportation only after involvement with the Cuban Mafia and a marriage to a prominent repug financier. House Speaker Pelosi recently remarked on congressional intention to hold the Regime accountable for their abuses of office…via lawsuit. What? Oh, yes; that’s right, the “leadership” has removed the constitutionally provided procedure to properly do this, so next time BOOsh commits a crime; we’ll sue his ass!! I have a scenario for you: BOOsh signs appropriations bill whilst appending a “signing statement/dictation” noting his “right” to ignore the provision requiring a timeline for withdrawal, Pelosi follows up by keeping her promise to sue, the issue goes before a judge that rules in favor of Pelosi, then BOOsh’s team appeals the ruling by citing violations of BOOsh’s “constitutionally inherent duty to defend the country and is a subversion of his authority as Commander in Chief”. The battle eventually makes its way up the chain of courts until the Supreme Court finally hears it and rules in favor of the BOOsh Regime forever etching into our system of government this so-called authority of the Chief Executive to overrule any and all congressional laws passed by the Bicameral Legislative Branch!! Great plan SPEAKER!!
Since 2004, it has been no mystery to me that BOOsh stole the White House in both elections he was involved in. I’ve read so many studies on the matter that is undeniably and frighteningly plausible to accept the fact that in order to assure political dominance, the right wing in our country adopted the deceitful democratic procedures of the Soviet Union and all other dictatorships they have rallied the people against in the past. Looking into these mathematical statistics; you’d have to come to terms with reality. Observe:

The data collected by exit pollsters has raised some questions, because according to the polls John Kerry should have won the popular vote by well over two percent, however, the official results indicated that George Bush won by the same margin. In eleven key battleground states, Kerry was predicted to win nine of them based on the exit poll data. Bush ended up winning six of these (Freeman, 2004). Even in the states that Kerry won, the margin of victory was much smaller than what one may have predicted. In Pennsylvania, Kerry was predicted to win by a margin of 8.7%, while the official vote count was only 2.2%. In Ohio, exit polls indicated a 4.2% Kerry victory, while Bush ended up carrying the decisive state by 2.5%...
There was also a question about the timing of the release of exit poll numbers. The poll results cited above were released by CNN on election night. These numbers were the actual counts taken in the poll. If one were to look up these exit poll results today, the numbers would be different. The numbers are adjusted based on the assumption that the official results are correct (Freeman, 2005)…
By breaking it down to individual precincts, the results are even more disturbing. In January 2006, a team of statisticians looked at the forty nine precincts polled in Ohio, and compared the uncalibrated results with the official vote count. Twenty of those forty nine had a discrepancy in favor of Bush that was outside of the margin of error, including “precinct 27”, in which official results showed Bush to carry the precinct with 62% of the vote, while exit poll data, received from 100 respondants, suggested that Kerry would win with 67%, a difference of 29% (Kennedy, 2006). To illustrate the improbability of these numbers, one would set up a null hypothesis that K=.38. The alternative hypothesis is K>.38. The sample size in precinct 27 was 100, and the sample K was .67. as n gets large, the distribution of sample K will asymptotically approach a normal distribution”

Repug Senator Mel Martinez of Florida broke federal law by not properly documenting and/or disclosing the sources of over 100,000 dollars in campaign contributions during his initial campaign for office as BOOsh’s champion to grasp the Cuban and Hispanic vote back in 2004. Tucker Carlson was discussing the presidential race when the issue of Hillary Clinton came up. His guest remarked that he would vote for Hillary over just about all the Repugs running for office which then prompted Carlson to ask “if (Clinton and Giuliani) had absolute power, if they were stuck, who would kill more?” This was after the guest stated that he thought Rudy was more authoritarian than Hillary. I really don’t trust either which unfettered power, but that is a reality we must deal with now. If the precedent BOOsh is setting goes unchallenged; we might have to ask this question about every election in the future. God help us.
The National Rifle Association came out in opposition to a bill that would make it harder for terrorists to acquire firearms in the states because it “would allow arbitrary denial of Second Amendment rights based on mere 'suspicions' of a terrorist threat.” Hmm, first off, I want to know where these hypocritical, twisted nutcases were when the arbitrary practice of circumventing the law and obstructing the individual rights of all those merely “suspected” of involvement with terrorism was taking place. This opposition is as justified as the act of BOOsh and his lapdog congress in 2004 when they permitted the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban to expire without even trying to renew it. That’s the true values of this mindset of the hooligans running the show; fighting terrorism entail restricting the right to know the allegations against you, contest it in a public setting, have access to counsel and witnesses, privacy, and even to freely speak out against their uncontrollable zealotry, but yet no restrictions on the access to deadly weapons that increase the likelihood of posing a serious threat to a nation’s security. Great logic behind that mindset!! Sounds a lot more like Taliban-ran Afghanistan than it does a civilized, industrial nation.
If anyone that reads this uses Verizon Wireless, you might want to hear this; Verizon recently came out in defense of their practices in turning over phone records to the federal government without a warrant or even notification to their customers. Their defense? It is apart of their first amendment rights. I have another amendment that the people at Verizon should read. The Ninth: “The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.” Does the violation of the Fourth Amendment and the “right to privacy” protected therein apply in this case? Most definitely.

Thanks to the recent controversy about the battle between former CIA Director Tenet and the Dictatorship, more information regarding the Regime’s manipulation of the 9/11 tragedy to build support for war in Iraq has surfaced (something they pursued from day one and at the request of Neocon think tank; the Project for a New American Century). It just shames me that our Congress refuses – as a whole – to uphold the constitution by holding these criminals accountable for what they’ve done.

During an interview with George Tenet on his new book about his tenure during the BOOsh years; Bill O’Reilly called everyone that opposed the war a “kook”. Citing the polls at the time, O’Reilly defended his attacks on the sanity of all rational people that stood up against an unconstitutional action. Kudos to Tenet for questioning this ignorant label, but the point is still there; O’Reilly – like McCain – has lost touch with the real world. To call everyone that opposed the march to war a “kook” merely because they weren’t gullible enough to fall for the barrage of lies being hurled at them by the regime and its propaganda machine is ludicrous.
A recent study unveiled a disturbing trend amongst the battle worn troops. Out of a large number of surveyed troops; less than half of marines and a little over half of all inquired army troops said they would filed a report on a fellow troop for atrocities committed against innocents. 40 percent support the idea of torture in some cases and about 10 percent claim to have purposely abused civilians. The pentagon wants to extend their tours? BOOsh wants to keep them bogged down in this mentally and emotionally traumatic environment? Yeah, they really care about the troops.

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) has come out threatening a deadline for progress in Iraq (where billions of dollars worth in oil production is now unaccounted for), or else. The sad thing is that everyone seems to have forgotten the fact that Boehner already gave a deadline earlier this year and thus has expired by now. On January 23rd, Boehner said the following:”I think it will be rather clear in the next 60 to 90 days as to whether this plan is going to work. And, again, that's why we need to have close oversight, so that we just don't look up 60 or 90 days from now and realize that this plan is not working. We need to know, as we're -- we move through these benchmarks, that the Iraqis are doing what they have to do.” So much for credibility.
I have found another video of an Iraq War veteran speaking out against war crimes that he himself witnessed and even committed. This brave marine even noted when all this senseless killing of innocents started to affect his mentality. He reminisced on one particular day when he was obviously depressed, leading his commanding officer to ask what was wrong, he responded that it had been a terrible day due to all the innocents that had died, to which the commander replied that he should be happy because it was a “good day”. Should this continue? Can we ethically and morally permit this insanity to continue while this marine and others report atrocities like this, and even note how some are feeling comfortable pissing on the once-innocent carcasses of those they expire? End this Occupation, NOW!!
So-called Democrats failed to even support a plan that guaranteed withdrawal when even my own Congressman (Space – D) voted against the proposed amendment that would’ve demanded such. I’ve already called my representative demanding an explanation from his office for their failure to end the occupation and have been assured that he’ll get back to me soon to do so. Space is slipping up badly, and I’m really fed up with it.
Want to know how we can damage relations with allies that we’ve maintained a good relationship with for many years? Opt to aggrandize an already existing military presence in their country by arranging for the construction of the largest military site in an entire continent.
